The Cabinet Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eliud Owalo, is set to launch yet another free public Wi-Fi spot in Nairobi.
As per an invite sent to the press, Owalo will unveil free public Wi-Fi at the Wakulima Market in the Muthurwa area of downtown Nairobi to serve people and businesses in the area.
In November, the CS had also launched free public Wi-Fi at another Nairobi market, City Market.
The government plans to rollout a total of 25,000 such Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.
President William Ruto has committed to ensuring that every shopping centre in the country has access to the internet and is served by such hotspots.
