Businesswoman Mary Wambui Mungai is the new chairperson of the Communications Authority of Kenya, the communications industry regulator in the country.
Mungai’s appointment by President William Ruto, announced on 2nd December via a gazette notice, takes effect from 1st December 2022.
Mungai takes over from Gilbert Kibe who resigned effective 1st December 2022.
“The appointment of Gilbert Kibe is revoked,” the Kenya Gazette notice appointing Mungai reads.
Kibe had served in the position for 7 months, having been appointed by then President Uhuru Kenyatta.
